Cathal is the partner in charge of our Limerick office and is a member of our National Executive Committee. He is a partner in our Audit & Assurance practice and has significant experience in leading audit and advisory services to both multinational and indigenous organisations. Cathal holds a BBS from the University of Limerick and he is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Cathal is currently a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) and is a Past President of Limerick Chamber of Commerce.
Oliver Holt, Director of Financial Reporting Services, Ireland Involved in an accounting technical role since 1994, joining Deloitte in 2007. Responsibilities include GAAP (IFRS and Irish/UK) interpretations, accounting technical support and practical application of GAAP in Deloitte Ireland including for both on-going IFRS reporters and reporters converting to IFRS for the first time. Also has a lead role in the professional development and updating of clients.
Niall is an Audit and Advisory Director based out of the Limerick office specialising in providing statutory audit, controls reviews, technical accounting advice and general business advisory to private clients. He has significant experience in providing practical advice, commercial guidance and innovative strategies and solutions to private clients.
Hollie is the Sustainability Reporting and Assurance lead for Deloitte Ireland. She currently works to help clients stay ahead of the latest Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) developments and reporting requirements across all industries. Since joining Deloitte in 2012, Hollie has worked on a number of large audit and assurance engagements in the financial services sector, primarily within investment management. Her client experience includes both UCITS and non-UCITS (AIFM) products, across multiple jurisdictions. Hollie has also spent time working within financial advisory on large capital market transactions in the banking industry. Hollie has an MSc in Financial Economics and is a is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ACA).
Carmel is a tax partner specialising in advising domestic businesses and their owners. Carmel works with a wide variety of domestic Irish businesses, from start-up phase right through to maturity, assisting them with scaling up, foreign expansion, acquisitions, restructurings, and exit planning where relevant. Her experience spans industries including manufacturing, retail, construction, life sciences, and the food and beverage industry.
Feargal has over 15 years’ taxation experience advising a broad range of clients across many sectors. He has extensive experience in dealing with the Revenue Commissioners in all types of Revenue audit and intervention cases. Revenue auditing has changed significantly over the last number of years as can be seen from the regular updates to the Code of Practice for Revenue audits and compliance interventions, the increased use of technology in the audit process, the alignment of tax payers into specific categories and the wider access to information now available to the Revenue. He has specific expertise in assisting taxpayers prepare for a Revenue audit and furnish a qualifying disclosure where appropriate. He also assists taxpayers prepare unprompted qualifying disclosures. In addition, he can manage the engagement process for Revenue audit/intervention cases to include agreeing tax geared penalties, where they can be agreed. Feargal also provides tax health checks to taxpayers who wish to consider their tax risk/governance.
Based in our Limerick office, Fergal is a Tax Partner in the firm’s Private Client Tax practice. He joined Deloitte as a Partner in June 2022 following the successful merger of his Ennis-based tax advisory practice, Cahill Taxation Services. Fergal has over 25 years of experience advising a broad range of clients including private business owners, high-net-worth individuals, and families on all aspects of their tax affairs. He has particular expertise in dealing with family business succession, business exits, corporate reorganizations, tax controversies, and property transactions. Recognised as an astute, high-level strategic thinker, Fergal is a highly respected and trusted advisor to his clients.
