How do you identify yourself?

I identify as a protagonist and prefer he/him pronouns.

What does inclusion mean to you?

Inclusion to me, means providing a supportive platform where individuals can be their true selves and receive the necessary support to achieve their aspirations without limitations or barriers.

What challenges did you experience, if any, in your career and how did you overcome them? 

During my university years and at the beginning of my career, I struggled significantly with imposter syndrome, which consumed me over. However, I found that the most effective way to overcome this challenge was by acknowledging and accepting my feelings, rather than attempting to blend in or conform to others' expectations.

What could others learn from your journey? 

If you're having trouble fitting in or feeling like you belong, my advice is to take a step back, breathe, and think about what you really want to achieve.

Deloitte has provided me with valuable opportunities for career development that I never imagined, as well as access to valuable resources and support to refine and strengthen my skills, including interpersonal skills that are critical to success in my role.

What is the most valuable thing you have learned since you joined Deloitte?

When making career choices, it's essential to prioritise your personal interests over short-term career gains and ensure that your goals are aligned with your overall career aspirations.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone relocating their life and career to Ireland? 

My advice to someone relocating their life and career to Ireland would be to make an effort to understand and respect the cultural differences and norms, as well as taking the time to build relationships with their colleagues and community to help foster a sense of belonging and make the transition smoother.
