Deloitte celebrates exam success!

Luke Bailey, from Dublin, achieves 1st place in professional exams in Ireland

Deloitte is pleased to announce that Luke Bailey has achieved 1st place in the Chartered Accountants Proficiency 2 (CAP2) examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland in 2018. In addition Luke has achieved the F.N. Kelly Memorial Prize, which is awarded to the highest scoring candidate in the tax paper in the Republic of Ireland.

Luke is an audit assistant working in Deloitte’s Audit Financial Services department. Luke completed a co-op placement with the firm in 2016 and re-joined Deloitte on a graduate contract in Autumn 2017. He has gained experience primarily in the banking industry since joining Deloitte. Luke, from Dalkey in Dublin, studied at Marian College, Ballsbridge before graduating from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. In his spare time, Luke enjoys travelling as much as possible.

Luke’s result is reflective of the overall exam success throughout Deloitte in the CAP2 examinations. There was an overall pass rate of 84% in the firm, which is 14% higher than the national average. His success also comes after Deloitte trainee, Lavannia, achieved first place in the Chartered Accountants Proficiency 1 (CAP1) examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland in 2018.

Reflecting on his results, Luke Bailey said: “It was a great surprise to hear that I had achieved first place in the CAP2 exams, and I am really thrilled with the result. The experience I’ve gained at Deloitte - working with some really interesting clients and alongside people who have supported me as I studied for these exams – has been very beneficial. That’s really helped me, and I am also glad that all of the hard work has paid off!’
