Suzanne is a Director in the Deloitte Ireland Indirect Tax team. Suzanne has worked extensively with US headquartered businesses in her previous Deloitte US (Seattle and New York) based roles. Prior to joining Deloitte US, Suzanne was part of the Financial Services and Insurance (“FSI”) Indirect Tax practice at Deloitte UK’s London office.
In Deloitte US, Suzanne was the lead indirect tax advisor and project manager for a number of US headquartered businesses which were growing globally and expanding rapidly. Suzanne has advised clients on their indirect tax matters in respect of international expansion into jurisdictions including Canada, APAC, LATAM and India.
By working with FSI businesses, Suzanne has experience in a range of VAT matters, including reverse charge reviews, devising input tax recovery methods (including negotiating and agreeing methods with local tax authorities), identifying cost saving opportunities and agreeing VAT refund claims with local tax authorities, and assisting at client workshops on pan-European and global VAT matters. Suzanne regularly presents to clients on complex VAT matters at the London FSI Indirect Tax Conference, the New York FSI Tax Conference and the Global Indirect Tax Conference in the US.
On a day-to-day basis, Suzanne’s role involves supporting businesses in managing global VAT compliance in an indirect tax consultancy capacity. She is responsible for advising on policy and legislative developments, process and risk management, the indirect tax implications of business model optimization, including leading cross service line projects at both a tax and business level.
