Owen has over 9 years’ experience in penetration testing, working as part of a global Attack and Penetration Team at “Big 4” professional services firms. He currently leads the Penetration Testing and Red Teaming teams for Deloitte Ireland and has in-depth experience in application, network, wireless and device penetration testing, having served numerous local and global clients in this area.
Owen led the Dublin Chapter of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) organisation, and has recently been elected to Vice-Chair of its Global Board of Directors. In 2016, Owen was awarded an OWASP Web Application Person of the Year (WASPY) award for Innovation and Sharing. He also lectures at the National College of Ireland in web application, network security, and secure application development, and is part of the OWASP Women in AppSec mentoring group.
