Ciara is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and holds a Bachelor of Laws in Law and European Studies from University of Limerick together with a Professional Diploma in Accounting from DCU. She joined Deloitte in 2014, having previously worked in the Revenue Commissioners and Crowe Horwath, where she spent several years working across all taxheads, with a particular emphasis on VAT.
Ciara is currently an Indirect Tax Senior Manager with Deloitte, based in the Galway office, with extensive experience across a broad range of VAT issues (e.g. VAT compliance, VAT consultancy, VAT audits, VAT reviews, supply chain reviews, VAT compliance health checks, VAT rate recovery methodologies, VAT due diligence, VAT rate submissions) at Irish and European level.
Ciara has considerable hands on experience in dealing with the VAT compliance cycle having closely dealt with many clients in delivering their tax compliance obligations successfully and has substantial experience in the provision of VAT compliance from a European multi-jurisdictional co-ordination context. She advises a diverse portfolio of domestic and international clients (corporates, MNCs, SMEs and professional clients), across all industries, with a particular focus on financial services and the pharmaceutical sector.
