The aviation industry is at a pivotal juncture with the introduction of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), significantly advancing the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) landscape. Replacing the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD), the CSRD expands ESG reporting obligations from 12,000 to approximately 50,000 entities in the EU, with the first wave of reporting slated for 2025. This directive includes Technical Screening Criteria (TSC) tailored to the aviation sector, enhancing sustainability transparency. The Irish government's commitment to transposing the legislation by July 2024 underscores the urgency of aligning national frameworks with CSRD mandates.
