Annual Inspection Plan of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing

The National Directorate‑General for Aliens Policing has published its inspection plan for 2026, applicable to its regional units.

According to the plan, in 2026 the Directorate‑General will carry out comprehensive inspections of certified temporary work agencies and key employers. Inspections may also include the registered accommodation and workplaces of guest workers, as well as the planned places of employment indicated in work permits submitted for the issuance of C‑type employment visas. With respect to the fulfilment of the authorised purpose of stay, the Directorate‑General also intends to conduct an increased number of follow‑up inspections this year.

The Authority is also planning various targeted sectoral inspections. In the first and last quarters of the year, employers engaging a large number of third‑country nationals are expected to be in focus, such as bakery and confectionery units, as well as railway and bus stations, major transport routes and busy hubs.

The publication of the annual inspection plan by the National Directorate‑General for Aliens Policing is available at the following link: Annual inspection plan.

The above highlights the importance of full compliance with the regulations governing the employment of third‑country nationals to avoid irregularities being identified during potential inspections, which may result in sanctions for both employers and employees. As many questions may arise in connection with the employment of foreign workers, seeking expert advice in a timely manner is recommended.
