OTP Bank Nyrt. entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the Uzbek Ipoteka Bank and its subsidiaries. Based on total assets, Ipoteka Bank is the fifth largest bank in Uzbekistan, with a market share of 8.5% (as of October 2022). The agreement was signed in December 2022, and the transaction was successfully completed in June 2023 following the receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals. Deloitte provided due diligence services to OTP Bank during the transaction.
