EP Group Takes Control of FAST ČR

The wholesale retailer of consumer electronics FAST ČR is coming under the full ownership of EP Group. The exclusive distributor of brands such as Casio, Sodastream and Sage also operates the retail network Planeo and owns the electronics brands Sencor and Philco. In 2021, FAST ČR was jointly acquired by PPF, EP Group and Rockaway Capital for CZK 4.67 billion from the founding family through CE Electronics Holdings. Since 2023 Rockaway exited and thus PPF has remained as the financial partner and EP Group as the managing partner.

Over the past four years, the company’s revenues have risen from CZK 13 billion to an expected CZK 17 billion, while the Planeo retail network has expanded from 138 to 192 stores across the Czechia and Slovakia. The transaction is subject to approval by the Office for the Protection of Competition.

PPF Group is an international investment holding company active mainly in financial services, telecommunications, real estate and media. Within its e-commerce and online portfolio it owns the price comparison site Heureka and the IT services provider EmbedIT.

EP Group primarily focuses on energy and infrastructure and operates in more than 45 countries across Europe and worldwide. In the wholesale and retail segment, in addition to FAST ČR, it also operates the online supermarket Košík.cz and holds a significant stake in wholesale company METRO AG.
