On 20 January 2022, the Parliament of Cyprus passed the legislation for the protection of whistleblowers, who report misconduct and acts of corruption in the workplace.
The purpose of this law is the establishment of an effective framework of special legal protection of those employees in the public or private sector who make a disclosure of information and data that came into their possession or fell, respectively, in their perception within their workplace.
