Deloitte named a strong performer in Application Modernisation and Migration Services by independent research firm

News Release

NEW YORK, NY, USA, 18 November 2019—Deloitte announced today that they have been named a strong performer in Application Modernisation and Migration Services in Forrester’s recent report entitled The Forrester Wave™: Application Modernisation and Migration Services, Q3 2019. Deloitte is recognised based on current offering, strategy and market presence.

“To Deloitte, this recognition speaks to our ability to capture and preserve mission-critical functionality embedded in legacy applications using unique products such as innoWake and ATADATA to drive value,” says Amod Bavare, principal, Cloud Migration Leader, Deloitte Consulting LLP. “Leveraging our full ecosystem of services, we provide differentiated capabilities that help our clients move to future-state platforms that meet business objectives.”

Forrester’s 26-criterion evaluation of application modernisation and migration services providers, “identified the 14 most significant [providers]… and researched, analysed and scored them. This report shows how each provider measures up and helps infrastructure and operations (I&O) professionals select the right one for their needs.”

“Moving forward, Deloitte will continue to invest in its people, solutions, and capabilities to help clients address their application modernisation needs,” adds Marlin Metzger, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP. “Through strategic acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and advancing the skills required to succeed today, we are able to implement innovative solutions.”

The report notes, “Cloud migration is driving the latest phase of application modernisation and companies of all sizes require assistance in making their cloud journeys. Consequently, many services firms can make a strong case for their lift-and-shift cloud migration capabilities or their classic modernisation services, such as automated language translation and conventional replatforming.”

Important findings in the Forrester report about Deloitte

  • “Deloitte takes a primarily product-based approach to application modernisation and migration, featuring ATAData, a cloud migration tool, and ‘InnoWake, an application modernisation tool, both of which it acquired in 2017. Deloitte has developed its Legacy DevOps concept, an integrated development environment for legacy applications. While not emphasising migration disproportionately, Deloitte is the only supplier in this analysis that can boast certification in both AWS and Google migration competencies. Deloitte is also a member of the CNCF.”
  • “Deloitte is a strong choice for customers seeking a genuine business partner that goes beyond a cookie-cutter approach, with a particular strength in enterprise resource planning (ERP).”
  • “High customer reference scores validate Deloitte’s approach, and clients cited a sense of true partnership with the [network]. In particular, one client reference appreciated Deloitte’s ability to avoid the tendency to take a one-size-fits-all approach and instead make optimised decisions on a case-by-case basis.”
  • “Deloitte appears to benefit substantially from its recent acquisitions, as it uses ATAData and InnoWake extensively in its service offerings. Client references don’t seem to mind, giving the [network] the highest possible marks for IP and tooling.”
