Awards
The work of the Dem4BIPV team has been awarded on two occasions with poster prizes for its outstanding and exemplary contribution to conferences: at the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference in the thematic area of ‘PV economics, markets and policies’ in Munich in June 2016, and at the Utrecht University's International Conference on Sustainability in October 2015.
Dem4BIPV Framework and Requirements’ Analysis report
The Dem4BIPV Framework and Requirements’ Analysis report aims to identify the key players in the BIPV sector and to provide a clear picture of the BIPV education needs in Europe. The report is based on the results of a survey with 100 stakeholders from 15 different countries and is available for free download through the project’s website here.
Transnational meeting in Vienna
The Dem4BIPV Consortium, which includes Deloitte’s IEC, met in Vienna on 8 and 9 November 2016 to discuss the project activities and to fine tune the work programme for the year 2017, in order to deliver high-quality didactic content on BIPV for higher education. Virtual labs for experimenting with BIPV will be operational in Austria, Cyprus and the Netherlands in 2018.
14th Austrian Photovoltaics Congress
The Dem4BIPV project was represented at the 14th Austrian Photovoltaics Congress, which was held on the 30th of November 2016 by project coordinator Wilfried van Sark from the Utrecht University. VanSark presented the first results of the Dem4BIPV project through a presentation titled “On the need for education in the BIPV sector: the Dem4BIPV project”. The presentation is available for download here.
The European project Dem4BIPV kicked off in September 2015 in response to the growing industry demand for a specialised BIPV workforce. The Dem4BIPV project brings together a consortium of leading European universities and experts to develop an innovative and interdisciplinary training scheme that will enable graduated architects and engineers to acquire the technical knowledge and competencies required for the successful implementation of BIPV projects.
