The Deloitte Best Managed Companies (BMC) program is a global initiative to identify and recognize private companies with advanced management ideas and excellent business performance.

About BMC

Deloitte Best Managed Companies (“BMC”) program is a global initiative. Founded in Canada in 1993. Our mission: to recognize and witness private companies that have advanced management concept and management excellence.

Worldwide, Deloitte is the biggest professional service institution. Partnering with Business School of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Harvard Business Review China and Commerce Chambers and professional associations of all regions, we conduct rigid selection and coaching, ensuring the independence, integrity and authority of this election, for nonprofit purpose.

The decisions are made by our strategic partners and Independent Review Committee comprising widely acclaimed experts to ensure the independence, fairness and authority of the program. Deloitte will provide technology support and professional project management throughout the process. In the foreseeable future, we hope to see a number of Chinese private companies with global competitiveness rise to the top level of business performance.

    • Established for at least 5 years, with strong financial performance over the past five years.
    • Turnover in the most recent accounting year no less than RMB1 billion.
    • Private companies (including portfolios invested by VC/PE companies, family business and privately-owned listed companies).
    • Headquartered in Chinese mainland, Hong Kong or Macau. Branches and subsidiaries in Chinese mainland, Hong Kong or Macau are regarded as ineligible entities (except they are listed in Chinese mainlan, Hong Kong or Macau, and trade shares independently).

    The Best Managed Companies ("BMC") program, as the only international award in China that comprehensively evaluates the management systems of enterprises, aims to identify and witness Chinese enterprises with advanced management concepts and excellent management levels, and hopes that more Chinese enterprises will be awarded the Best Managed Companies Award.The program aims to identify and witness Chinese companies with advanced management concepts and excellent management levels, and hopes that more Chinese companies will emphasize long-term, balanced and sustainable development.

    The following four commitments illustrate the programme’s core expectations of winning companies:

    1. Integrity

    As a Best Managed company, we will act lawfully, honestly, ethically and with integrity towards our customers, employees, vendors and stakeholders.

    Best Managed companies are truthful and honest about the business information provided to the Best Managed program:

    • Best Managed companies must abide by Chinese law
    • Best Managed candidates will not exert undue influence upon program coaches, sponsors, or judges
    • Best Managed companies must update any change in business affecting their designation (ownership, financial, legal) when re-qualifying year over year

    Treat interactions with program sponsors, partners and their staff with the same honesty and integrity that you would apply within your own organisation.

    2. Foster diversity, equity and inclusion

    As part of the Network of Management Excellence Companies, BMC enterprises should foster a culture and workplace environment of mutual respect, courtesy, fairness and equity, and promote equal opportunities for all.

     

    3. Commitment to upholding the standard of the Best Managed program designation through the four pillars

    BMC firms should be committed to excellence in four major areas (strategy, capability, commitment, and financial strength) while upholding the BMC program brand standards and image.

    Upholding brand standards

    • BMC certification has been recognized for more than 30 years and brings together outstanding management companies in countries that are strong drivers of economic growth. the BMC brand is the culmination of the combined efforts of BMC companies and is widely recognized around the world. bmc companies are expected to safeguard the legacy of the bmc brand and to follow the branding and logotype guidelines of the bmc network of china
    • Uphold program brand standards consistent with the four pillars (Strategy, Capabilities & Innovation, Culture & Commitment, Governance & Financials)
    • Award-winning companies should correctly use existing certification marks
    • Correct use of the certification mark naming convention - "China Excellence Management Company"
    • Logo use permitted for duration of program year. Must be removed immediately should the company chose not to re-apply, or become ineligible

    4. Best Managed community role model

    BMC companies form the BMC Network, actively participate in BMC program activities, members respect each other and work hand in hand to contribute to China's economic development.

    The following terms and conditions apply to the BMC program conducted by Deloitte China (the “Program”):

    1. Your Information

    • You confirm and agree that all information provided in the application form or subsequently in the application for the CXO Excellence Lab and Selection Process (collectively, the “Application Information”) is correct and up-to-date.
    • By submitting an Entry, you confirm that you have the authorization and appropriate permissions and consents from your company and the individual to whom the Entry relates to provide the information to Deloitte.
    • Deloitte recognizes that all enrollment information will be used solely for the purpose of determining your eligibility for BMC certification. Non-public financial data will not be disclosed without your consent, except on a confidential basis to an independent review committee.
    • You agree that the registration information collected during the registration phase of the program may be retained and benchmarked to develop insights and trends on the characteristics required of the participating companies.
    • If any personal information is included in the program entry form, you confirm that you are collecting personal information in accordance with the applicable data protection or privacy laws of the country in which the individual is located, and that the individual has authorized the disclosure and use of his or her personal information and has been informed of his or her right to access and request correction of his or her personal information. The Deloitte Privacy Policy will apply to the personal information you provide to Deloitte.

    2. Management Excellence CXO Lab

    • After submitting your registration information, the BMC program team will arrange a “Management Excellence CXO Lab” with the company.
    • The Management Excellence CXO Lab is intended to facilitate the BMC selection process and should not be considered a Deloitte opinion or recommendation or other service.
    • None of Deloitte's member firms, affiliates, partners, employees or agents shall be liable for any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly from your use of the insights, discussions, communications or other information shared during or in connection with the Management Excellence CXO Lab.

    3. during the review period and after participation

    • Deloitte reserves the right to
      • the right to conduct due diligence on your entry at any time. ii. We may, in our sole discretion, reserve the right to disqualify you from applying for or obtaining or continuing to hold program accreditation based on the results of the due diligence investigation.
      • the right to change, adjust, extend or discontinue the Program at any time for any reason, including the manner in which participation in the Program is announced.
      • the right to revoke Project accreditation before or after an award is made if: you no longer meet the Project's eligibility criteria; we believe that you have failed to provide truthful or complete information in any participation or re-entry documents; your continued participation in the Project creates a potential or actual conflict of interest; or you otherwise act in a manner that may bring Deloitte and/or the Project into disrepute.
    • The decision of the Project Independent Review Committee shall be final.
    • The PIAC or Deloitte shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly from its decisions relating to your participation in the Program.

    4. Branding and Logo

    • Following the award, you may use the Management Excellence logo and related branding elements in your marketing materials (including relevant websites) in accordance with the branding guidelines. Deloitte reserves the right to request the alteration or removal of the logo or other materials for the Program at any time. “The right to use the Management Excellence logo does not include the right to refer to or use the Deloitte brand, logo or marks in any marketing materials.

    5. Acknowledgement

    By participating in the Program, you acknowledge and agree to

    • you accept the above terms and conditions; and
    • we hereby authorize Deloitte to use our name and to record audio and photographs on video or other forms of media in connection with the Program awards and related matters. The Business cannot claim any remuneration or compensation for such use. The Business represents and warrants that it will comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations relating to the prevention and/or prohibition of bribery or other forms of corruption and that it will not engage in any form of corrupt practices.
