The last mile to a sustainable future

Revved for change

The urgency to shift towards sustainability has never been greater, driven by escalating consumer demands, government regulations and market incentives creating a catalyst to address the climate crisis. Purolator worked with Deloitte as its strategic collaborator to craft a comprehensive roadmap for its nationwide fleet decarbonisation, covering strategic planning and optimisation strategies.

Purolator charges ahead: striving for net-zero emissions

Purolator is turbocharging its journey towards slashing GHG emissions, aiming to convert 3,500 vehicles to electric by 2030. This move extends their eco-friendly reach across 99.9% of Canada's vast 10 million square kilometres.

Navigating the ever-changing landscape of technology, regulations and consumer demands presents challenges and opportunities. In partnership with Deloitte, Purolator has developed a robust strategy to cut scope 1 & 2 emissions by 42% by 2030. This strategy includes optimising operational efficiencies, leveraging infrastructure upgrades and tapping into government incentives to reduce costs.

Our collaborative effort is propelling Purolator towards a greener future, ensuring that they meet their sustainability goals with confidence.

"A couple of years ago, we decided that we wanted to be the greenest courier in Canada. We knew that in order to achieve that goal, our last mile delivery vehicles had to be a priority for Purolator."

- by  Cindy Bailey, Corporate Sustainability Officer, Purolator

Purolator was recognised by Canada’s Clean50 as a leader for their contribution to environmental sustainability over the past two years. They plans to invest $1 billion to electrify our Canadian network by 2030.
