Deloitte Legal strengthens AI regulatory capabilities

Gregor Strojin joins Deloitte Legal and will lead the Central European AI Regulatory Center of Excellence (CoE)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are gaining ever-stronger traction, with companies turning to them for a growing range of activities, from credit scoring to product pricing. This rapid development has triggered a wave of regulatory initiatives that companies need to navigate to stay compliant. The newly established Deloitte Legal Central Europe AI Regulatory Center of Excellence (CoE) will assist clients with the regulatory aspects to be considered for projects, business processes and technology solutions that include an element of AI. It will draw on the existing capabilities of the Deloitte Legal network, combining legal skills with innovative service delivery and technology platforms, across 15 jurisdictions in Central Europe.

Gregor brings extensive experience in the field of AI regulations. His main interests lie in the crossroads of technology, information, and law, both from theoretical, practical and policy perspectives. He holds an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law and a specialization in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law (Chicago Kent). Gregor previously served as the vice-Chair and Chair of the Council of Europe Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAHAI), as State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice of Slovenia and worked at the Supreme Court of Slovenia.

Gregor joins as a Local Partner in Deloitte Legal Reff - branch in Slovenia (Odvetniška pisarna Deloitte Legal Reff - podružnica v Sloveniji), a part of Deloitte Legal Network.

"AI undoubtfully offers a range of opportunities for companies. Taking advantage of them needs to be carefully assessed considering the constantly evolving regulatory framework to minimise risks and bring compliance. I am delighted to welcome Gregor on board. His experience will be instrumental in further expanding the support we offer to clients, helping them to benefit from AI technologies."
