Ozren Kobsa

Ozren is Partner at Krehić & Partners, where he heads a team for Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Insolvency & Restructuring and Special Situations. He is a fully licensed Croatian attorney-at-law with more than 12 years of expertise as Banking & Finance lawyer. From strategy development and resolving complex regulatory issues to negotiations and document drafting, Ozren participates in day-to-day legal counselling for leading national and international financial institutions and corporations, from Fortune 500 to local firms.

Ozren advises lenders and borrowers on a wide range of multi-jurisdictional, cross-border and local financing transactions, including acquisition and leveraged finance, project finance, commodities backed finance arrangements, group restructurings, single board resolution proceedings, regulatory capital increasings (including AT1), bond issuances, PRIIP regulatory regime, extraordinary administration proceedings, insolvency, etc.

In addition, Ozren’s strong focus also includes EU law advice related to banking, finance, netting, derivatives and debt and equity capital markets transactions as well as fintech. Most recently Ozren was engaged in drafting a new Covered Bonds Act in Croatia and was consulted in preparation of amendments to Compulsory Liquidation of Credit Institutions Act. He is an author of Croatian ISDA netting and collateral opinions.

Before joining Krehić & Partners, Ozren spent more than half a decade as head of local B&F and CM practice group in top tier CEE law firm. In 2021, he was seconded to European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as a legal expert.
