NEW YORK, NY, USA, 28 April 2023 — Deloitte was recently ranked first out of 23 organizations for both brand preference and brand awareness in Verdantix’s Global Corporate Survey 2022: EHS Services Brands Recognition Survey.
As the top leader in both areas, Deloitte scored 67% in terms of brand preference. In addition to strong brand recognition in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) services space, Deloitte comes out on top for being perceived as having “marketing-leading” or “strong” capabilities—scoring 89%. Deloitte also had the lowest percentage (11%) of survey respondents who are unaware of the organization.
This report helps CEOs, chief marketing officers, and business development directors at EHS service firms understand the strength of their brand, in terms of customer preference and brand awareness, from the perspective of 300 corporate EHS leaders across 31 countries and 25 industries.
“We are honored to receive this top distinction from Verdantix especially since environmental and sustainability solutions are a high priority as we seek to drive immediate action at scale,” says Jennifer Steinmann, Deloitte Global Sustainability & Climate Practice leader. “We are helping organizations define a roadmap to a low-carbon economy, guide them as they embed sustainability into decision-making and operations, and advise them as they address increasing pressures from investors, regulators, governments, consumers, and internal stakeholders.”
This comes against the backdrop of this year’s global corporate survey, which found “climate risk analysis has become a prominent consideration in both corporate resilience strategy and investor decision-making. The Verdantix survey saw 79% of respondents describe climate risk and scenario analysis as a ‘valuable’ or ‘very valuable’ service offering.” Deloitte is actively meeting this need by focusing on financial institutions and formed a strategic alliance with climate management and carbon accounting software vendor Persefoni to monitor climate risks housed within investment portfolios.
Demonstrating Deloitte’s commitment to innovation and integrating technology within their offerings, Verdantix noted, “Deloitte has worked alongside SAP to develop a full suite of sustainability tools, allowing it to deliver scalable solutions to support clients in developing ESG strategy, managing ESG reporting, expediting decarbonization plans, and managing supply chains in a sustainable manner.”
“Deloitte is uniquely-placed to support clients meet increasing sustainability and environmental demands and curb climate risks,” says Darren Gerber, Deloitte Australia Risk Advisory Climate & Sustainability Lead Partner. “We have the proven record to help close the gaps between climate ambition and impact, as seen by our relentless focus on harnessing cutting-edge technologies to help enable successful client transformation that is both scalable and profitable.”
As part of its ongoing WorldClimate strategy, Deloitte is committed to taking measurable and concrete steps to address climate change across its operations and business. In 2022, Deloitte's Sustainability & Climate practice announced a US$1 billion investment in client-related services, data-driven research, and assets and capabilities to help accelerate its clients’ journeys to a more sustainable future. Most recently, Deloitte unveiled new platforms like GreenSpace Tech by Deloitte to connect climate technology innovation with industries to accelerate decarbonization and adaptation, as well as GreenLight Solution to provide an end-to-end sustainability solution that helps unlock a clear, actionable path to net-zero emissions.
