Tom Schoenwaelder is a New York-based principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP and a senior leader in the organization’s Strategy practice. He oversees one of Deloitte’s largest Consumer Industry client relationships and serves as chair of Deloitte’s CEO Program.
Tom works with senior leadership teams to shape and deliver strategy-led transformations that unlock growth, strengthen competitive advantage, and create measurable business value. His experience spans strategy, marketing, technology, digital, data, and analytics, with a focus on major growth programs and technology-enabled transformation.
Over the past 25 years, Tom has worked with a wide range of businesses, developing deep experience in Consumer-related sectors, including consumer products, airlines, retail, hospitality, and travel. He has helped clients accelerate core growth, expand into new categories, channels, and geographies, design new business models, and improve performance in underperforming businesses. His work has included complex projects across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

Previously, Tom led Deloitte’s Growth Strategy practice, built Deloitte’s Executive Advisor program, and served as Chief Transformation Officer of Deloitte’s Advise practices. Before joining Deloitte, he was a partner at Monitor Group, where he consulted for 14 years and co-led Monitor’s New York office.
Tom has worked in Boston, Frankfurt, Moscow, and New York, and lived in Southeast Asia for many years. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University and an MBA from Kellogg. He lives in New York City with his wife, Zeynep, and their sons, Alexander, Theo, and Markus.
