Laurie Mernett is an Audit & Assurance partner at Deloitte Cayman Islands, and has over 20 years of professional experience with Deloitte in Canada and in the Cayman Islands. She specializes in providing assurance and advisory services to private investment funds and other Cayman-based financial services entities. Laurie holds numerous leadership roles within the Cayman office and Deloitte's Caribbean Bermuda region, focusing on training, audit innovation, and audit technical matters. She has also participated in panel discussions at various industry events in the Cayman Islands on these focus areas.
Laurie is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and holds a B.Comm and a BA (Adv) degrees from the University of Manitoba, Canada. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Laurie is the 2024 Vice President of the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA), a member of the CIIPA Membership Licensing Committee and Chair of the Membership Engagement Committee. Laurie is actively involved in leadership of the Cayman Islands chapter of 100 Women in Finance, serving as former co-chair of its Main Committee and as a member of the Gala Committee.
