Ikins is the Office Managing Partner and Tax leader for the Barbados office and specialises in international tax planning working closely with Deloitte’s international network to facilitate a seamless cross border experience for the firm’s multinational clients. He has responsibility for tax, corporate advisory services and talent management and leads local and regional engagements, including mergers and acquisitions and co-ordinates tax compliance services for major international enterprises in the region.
Ikins has over 20 years’ experience working with a range of local, regional and international clients focusing on tax planning, corporate restructuring, corporate governance due diligence, mergers & acquisitions and statutory compliance. He serves several sectors including the financial service sector, manufacturing and international business. He has sound knowledge of tax laws in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean and participates in various business development fora on behalf of the firm.
Ikins is the lead contact on Deloitte pursuits and engagements for all tax matters in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. He and his tax team have become a key resource for providing bespoke solutions across various industries in the region.
He holds a B. Sc. (Hons) in Economics and Management from the University of the West Indies. He is a Corporate Practitioner, being a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of England – (FCIS). He has completed various training modules in international taxation held by the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation. He is also a registered insolvency practitioner in Barbados.
