Junko Watanabe serves as the Deputy Chair of Deloitte Asia Pacific and chairs the Partners Committee. Her tenure at Deloitte includes serving two terms as a board member of Deloitte Japan, where she now acts as an observer. She played a critical role as co-chair of the global nomination committee that selected the current global CEO. Throughout her career at Deloitte, Junko has held several leadership roles, including chair of both the audit and compensation committees in Deloitte Japan, and chair of compensation and board transformation committees for the Deloitte Asia Pacific Board.

In her current role, Junko is the global lead client service partner for Sony Corporation.

Junko began her career at Price Waterhouse, where she audited multinational companies like Sony, Nomura Securities, and IBM Japan. After a strategic planning role at a food manufacturing company, she joined Deloitte in 2001. Her expertise spans accounting, auditing, mergers and acquisitions, and advisory services, including IPOs and IFRS projects.

She also contributes to leadership development as co-dean of several Deloitte Global/Asia Pacific programs and engages in panel discussions on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Junko holds a US CPA certification and a graduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with additional work experience in New York.
