Key insights

  • With the publication of Constitutional Amendment No. 132/23, which amends the Brazilian tax system, the expectation has been consolidated that the Reform recently approved by the National Congress will bring greater transparency to the country's tax burden.
  • Only 46% of companies participating in the “Tax of Tomorrow” survey carried out a study of the impacts of the Reform Tax on consumption; of those who have not done it yet, 45% await publication of complementary laws.
  • Almost six out of every ten respondents who carried out an impact study concluded that the Reform could reflect on price increase or margin reduction.
  • More than 60% of organizations evaluate making changes in their supply chain, geographic location or both, considering the possible impacts of the Reform on their business.
  • Approximately 30% of the tax professional's time is dedicated to post-payment activities (response to inspection findings and tax litigation management), considering all spheres.
  • Currently, 12% of responding organizations use Artificial Intelligence in their operations, evidencing space for increased use of this technology in tax activities.
