The Salon Usability lab

Improving User Experience through Scientific Testing that drives evidence-based design decisions

About The Salon Usability lab

The Salon is a controlled, distraction-free environment where UX researchers observe users as they interact with digital/physical products, using tools like eye tracking to record data and gather real-time insights on usability issues.

In our usability lab, we combine cutting-edge technology with expert analysis to uncover how real users experience your product. By studying eye movement, engagement patterns, and interaction flows, we identify pain points and opportunities for optimization—helping you create intuitive, user-friendly designs that drive results.

Gain Deeper Insights into User Behaviour

In our usability lab, we combine cutting-edge technology with expert analysis to uncover how real users experience your product. By studying eye movement, engagement patterns, and interaction flows, we identify pain points and opportunities for optimization, helping you create intuitive, user-friendly designs that drive results.

How the Lab works

Together we define the objectives, target groups, and success metrics. We develop the usability test plan (tasks, questions and session structure).

We identify and recruit participants who reflect your target audience. Our team manages the full process: outreach, screening, and scheduling.

Our usability experts run test sessions with 8 participants (typically 45 minutes per participant, spread over 1 or 2 days). You are welcome to observe the sessions live in our offices or remotely.

Our team of UX experts reviews the screen recordings, transcripts, and eye-tracking data.

We deliver a comprehensive report with prioritised recommendations and next steps for designers, developers, and stakeholders.
