A baseline for future cycling events
The UCI Road World Championships, Deloitte, and Flanders worked together to capture data for the ESG framework for the first time in cycling history, creating the baseline for future sustainability benchmarks of cycling events.
In our report, we share how we reduced the impact of the 2021 UCI Road World Championships on the environment by amongst other reducing waste and making eco-friendly mobility plans, made it more socially inclusive, and improved transparency in operations.
We also highlight the fair play and good governance measures that were implemented, and provide guidelines and recommendations to make cycling events even more sustainable in the future.
