Invetech’s Digital Transformation Journey
With a legacy ERP system of more than 20 years old, Invetech's team was struggling with its upkeep, creating workarounds, and building systems external to their ERP to support the business. When the company's strategic direction changed to include a focus on expanding its manufacturing business with the goal of innovating faster, bring manufacturing in-house, it became clear that a new approach was needed. Invetech is unique, as a professional services organisation it has invention and manufacturing as the backbone of their business, and an acute need for technology to support these functions.
The company's management team approached the journey by stressing the importance of being humble enough to recognise that "we don't know what we don't know" and also of bringing their people along the journey. SAP's S/4HANA Public Cloud was chosen as the solution that best suited Invetech's current and future needs, to streamline operations as the company continued to evolve and expand. The implemented SAP system now helps Invetech deliver innovative healthcare products along the entire product journey, from conceptualising medical device ideas, to building product prototypes, through to commercial manufacturing. An example of this is Invetech's identification of much needed improvement in the innovation of cell processing, prompting the launch of Korus™, a system that has the potential to transform cell therapy industry standards.

Deloitte's approach with Invetech was collaborative and iterative, engaging with the appropriate business stakeholders to deliver the outcomes based on a fit-to-standard process. This has enabled Invetech to bring previously outsourced manufacturing in-house, ensuring that future innovations are managed and manufactured without the need for a third party. The implementation has also enabled Invetech to integrate their manufacturing with their finance functions, ensuring a smooth running of both. Invetech's SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation, completed in just 26 weeks, has had a significant contribution to Invetech's ability to design and build new products in an holistic, agile and innovative way.
