Deloitte’s Strategy, Risk & Transaction Advisory team is seeking a high-performing Assistant Manager to join our Strategy, Risk & Transactions (SR&T) team. As an Assistant Manager within the SR&T team, you will play a key role in delivering client engagements, managing project workstreams, and supporting senior leaders in providing high-quality advisory services.
Responsibilities:
Finance and Accounting Support
Support finance and accounting advisory engagements through assessment of financial processes, reporting frameworks, and control environments.
Assist in the preparation and review of management reports, financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end reporting deliverables.
Perform financial analysis and analytical review procedures to identify trends, variances, risks, and performance improvement opportunities.
Support compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies through documentation review and control-focused assessments.
Contribute to advisory recommendations to strengthen financial controls, improve reporting quality, and enhance finance operating processes.
Risk Advisory, Internal Audit & Governance
Support enterprise and project-level risk assessments, including identification, analysis, and evaluation of strategic, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
Assist in the design, review, and enhancement of risk management frameworks, internal control systems, and governance arrangements aligned to client objectives and regulatory expectations.
Support governance reviews, policy and procedure assessments, and board or committee reporting processes to strengthen accountability, oversight, and decision-making.
Deliver internal audit and advisory procedures, including control design assessment, walkthroughs, testing, issue identification, and practical recommendations to improve control effectiveness and governance maturity.
Assist with internal audit planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up of management actions, with clear communication of findings, risk implications, and remediation priorities
Public Finance Management
Support public sector clients in strengthening budget formulation, execution, monitoring, and financial reporting processes across the budget cycle.
Support reform initiatives relating to fiscal governance, policy implementation, institutional strengthening, and performance-based planning and budgeting.
Assist in the development of advisory recommendations, diagnostic reviews, and capacity-building support to improve transparency, accountability, and service delivery outcomes.
Data Analytics, Reporting & Insights
Analyse financial, operational, and risk data to identify trends, exceptions, control gaps, and performance improvement opportunities.
Develop dashboards, management reports, and data visualisations that support monitoring of KPIs, risk indicators, and strategic decision-making.
Apply data analytics and business intelligence techniques to support diagnostic reviews, forecasting, scenario analysis, and evidence-based recommendations.
Project, Engagement & Delivery Management
Manage end-to-end engagement delivery, including planning, workstream coordination, milestone tracking, and timely completion of high-quality client deliverables.
Support engagement planning, resource allocation, budget monitoring, and task management to ensure delivery remains aligned to scope, timelines, and commercial objectives.
Manage stakeholder relationships through clear communication, status reporting, issue escalation, and proactive resolution of delivery risks and dependencies.
Provide day-to-day oversight of engagement teams, including coaching junior staff, reviewing work quality, and maintaining compliance with firm methodologies and client expectations.
Contribute to client relationship management, engagement economics, proposal development, and identification of follow-on advisory opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, economics, business, computer science, or a related field.
Professional qualification (CPA, CA, CFA or equivalent) is preferred.
5+ years’ experience in consulting, advisory, corporate finance, or a similar environment.
Experience in public finance management, risk advisory, internal audit, governance reviews, and project management.
