Meet Raphaella Bichler, Graduate in Consulting

Our Graduate Program can open the door for you to work on exciting projects with clients from all over the world, and provide the opportunity for life-changing career moves.

Raphaella talks us through some of the work she does in Consulting, and her approach to learning and development.

Hi Raphaella - tell us about the work culture in your team- how do you work together with colleagues or across business areas.

The leadership team has made a conscious effort to create a working environment where everyone feels comfortable to come to work as their authentic self and know their ideas and opinions are valued. There are also so many opportunities to interact with your colleagues outside of project work - from virtual sessions and in-person events to coffee runs - which contributed further to a workplace culture revolving around collaboration, communication and support.

How does your team, or business area, make an impact with our clients or community?

As part of Customer & Marketing, our teams are dedicated to making an impact with our clients by solving their problems through customer-centric approaches. We provide insights, resources and support to empower our clients to thrive in their respective industries. Team members are also encouraged to participate in volunteering work through the Deloitte Impact Day initiative and utilise our knowledge to help not-for-profit organisations and the wider community.

Tell us about a piece of work or work project you’ve been a part of that you’re really proud of?

I was able to be involved with a web analytics project for a major Australian agribusiness shortly after joining Deloitte. The project entailed uplifting data collection and web analytics capabilities, to provide the client with the ability to make informed decisions and better understand their customers. We also worked on implementing web experimentation to help foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

How is your learning and growth supported in your team or business - thinking about your coaching, Program or on-the-job learning experience?

The one-on-one guidance from my coach has been invaluable in helping me navigate the challengers of beginning my career. On-the-job learning is actively encouraged and the supportive environment created by the team means you never feel afraid to dive headfirst into new learning opportunities.

I feel as though I am growing my skills, both personally and professionally, every single day and gaining the tools to forge my own unique career path in the world of consulting.

For the team or area of the business you've joined, what's something that impressed you and that really sets Deloitte apart?

One aspect of Deloitte that impressed me is the dedication to fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. We are provided with so many opportunities to develop skills across both technical and soft skills, and encouraged to try as many new things as possible. I feel as though the graduate program here is giving me the skillset I'll need to succeed in whatever future role I choose.

If you could give a future grad one piece of advice, what would it be?

My advice for future grads is to participate as much as possible, get involved with things that make you excited to come to work, and most of all enjoy yourself!
