Meet Tanvi - Graduate in Deloitte's Technology & Transformation business

Time out with a Deloitte Graduate

Meet Tanvi Chavan, a graduate of our EAID Engineering Advisory team in Technology & Transformation. Tanvi shares with us her journey to Deloitte and what her graduate year has been like.

Tanvi joined Deloitte as a Grad in March 2024 after completing her Masters in Business Information Systems from Monash University. Before that, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and worked as a Developer, which set the stage for her move to Australia and her decision to further her studies. "I believe graduate programs are one of the best ways to gain a comprehensive understanding of how a large organisation like Deloitte operates," she explains. "They offer a chance to build a strong professional network, explore diverse business areas and technologies, and ultimately find the path that best suits your strengths and career goals."

"I believe graduate programs are one of the best ways to gain a comprehensive understanding of how a large organisation like Deloitte operates."

What really attracted Tanvi to Deloitte was hearing success stories from its Cloud practice, especially initiatives like "Deloitte Women in Cloud." These inspiring journeys, showing how grads can progress into leadership roles on high-impact projects, reinforced her decision to begin her professional journey with Deloitte.

Working in the Cloud Advisory space, Tanvi is involved in helping clients develop cloud strategies, migrate to cloud platforms, and optimise their environments for performance and cost-efficiency. "We work with leading technologies like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud," she shares, adding that her role also involves project management—coordinating technical documentation, resources, timelines, and stakeholder communications to deliver seamless, impactful solutions.

A typical week for Tanvi involves client engagements, project management, and personal development. "I start each day by planning my tasks and joining team stand-ups to align on priorities," she says. Twice a week, she heads into the office to network and collaborate face-to-face, and she always sets aside time for personal learning, often focusing on relevant certifications or new industry topics.

Outside of work, Tanvi finds balance in creative pursuits and travel. Whether participating in dance workshops, getting lost in a good book, or planning her next adventure to explore new cultures, she values the fresh perspectives these activities bring.

"Having both a project coach and a career coach helps guide you through day-to-day challenges and long-term career planning."

Deloitte’s commitment to growth and a supportive culture has been a cornerstone of Tanvi’s experience. The firm’s comprehensive training plan—starting with foundational sessions and then deep-diving into her specific business unit—coupled with hands-on project exposure and dedicated coaching has provided her with a well-rounded development experience. "Having both a project coach and a career coach helps guide you through day-to-day challenges and long-term career planning," she adds.

Tanvi also appreciates Deloitte's flexibility. "Deloitte Flex has been incredibly helpful in supporting a healthy work-life balance," she notes. On days when I need to start early or finish earlier, I have the freedom to adjust my schedule, which makes it much easier to manage personal commitments alongside my professional responsibilities."
