Meet Caitlin, a Tax & Legal returned Alumni

Returning Alumni Profiles

At Deloitte, opportunities to learn and grow are a big part of our employee promise.

We spoke to Caitlin, a returned Deloitte Alumni and Manager in Tax & Legal on her career journey, and her experience returning to the firm

Hi Jenelle, can you walk us through your career at Deloitte so far?

I joined Deloitte as a graduate, working in what was a similar tax team at the time. I really enjoyed the collegiate environment and the focus on learning and development.

I’ve recently returned to Deloitte after two years at PWC as a manager in Tax & Legal, working predominantly across the private market. A typical day for me might involve meeting clients, corresponding with the tax office, managing deliverables and brainstorming with my colleagues. Oh, and coffee!

What do you believe makes Deloitte stand out from other organisations as a place to work?

I think Deloitte’s workplace culture is unique. I enjoy the professional and respectful environment and the specialist tax work I’m involved in.

We have a great learning and development program that set’s you up with a motivating career coach access to learning and development relevant to my role and career goals. This is something I believe is uniquely Deloitte.

What are some of your favourite parts of working for Deloitte?

I value the opportunity to take part in Impact Day – I donated blood for the first time which was a rewarding experience.

I am encouraged to work on matters that I’m interested in and that play to my strengths as opposed to the traditional cookie cutter method people think of when they think of working in a ‘big 4’.

It’s hard to sum it up but overall I think it’s the people and the culture.
