John Greig Named Incoming Chair of Deloitte Australia

11 MARCH 2024: The Board of Deloitte Australia has announced the appointment of John Greig as the firm’s new Chair, effective 1 June 2024. 

John is a long-standing member the Board and currently serving as the Deputy Chair. He will succeed outgoing Chair Tom Imbesi who completes his maximum term on 31 May 2024.

“I want to thank Tom for his outstanding leadership and oversight of the firm since 2017. He successfully navigated the firm through one of our most challenging times during the COVID pandemic and he continues to lead the firm with distinction,” John said.

John has over 40 years’ experience advising boards, executive management and other stakeholders of listed and large privately owned organisations as a turnaround and restructuring specialist. One of his most notable appointments was the restructure and sale of Virgin Australia.

John was Managing Partner of Deloitte in Queensland for over nine years and has been a partner in the Australian firm for 30 years. He is a deeply respected leader in the Australian market and within the Deloitte Asia Pacific and Global firm.

The Board’s role is to provide robust governance over our firm and set the tone to maintain and enhance the trust of our internal and external stakeholders.
