Steve Paterson is a partner in the State Taxes team at Deloitte Australia. He has more than 22 years’ experience advising on Australian indirect and state taxes, particularly stamp duty, land tax and foreign surcharges. Over his career, Steve has been involved with numerous major transactions within Australia and has gained a deep working knowledge of some of the most unique and complex business and transaction structuring approaches. He uses this knowledge to help businesses navigate the ever-changing tax and stamp duty landscape. Steve has authored many articles about the interpretation and application of changes to state taxes laws, and been called on to provide expert commentary in the Australian Financial Review.
