Jacques Van Rhyn, Deloitte Australia, is an international tax and transfer pricing partner, based in Brisbane. He leads the national IP Advisory practice for Deloitte Australia. Jacques has been in professional practice for 32 years, 10 years practising as a commercial attorney for own account and then as in-house legal-council and 22 years in international tax and transfer pricing practices in “Big Four” firms.
Jacques has extensive experience advising multinational companies on various cross-border tax and transfer pricing issues, especially in the energy and resources sector, with a specific focus on mining, oil and gas, EPC companies and Intangibles.
Jacques has managed several multijurisdictional cross-border projects for multinational groups focused on business model optimisation, structuring, and the establishment of group transfer pricing and intangibles strategies and policies. He has assisted various clients with bilateral and unilateral APAs, tax disputes and designed complex transfer pricing models for specifically the Energy, Resources and Industrial sectors.
Jacques has been listed in Euromoney/Legal Media’s Guide to the World’s Leading Transfer Pricing Advisers in both South Africa and Australia, as well as in the Guide to the World’s Leading Controversy Lawyers. He has published various articles on international tax and transfer pricing, mining and oil and gas, and contributed to various IP publications.
