John Greig

John is the Chair of Deloitte Australia and the Lead Client Service Partner for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

He commenced his career with Deloitte in 1984 as an undergraduate, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and was admitted as a partner of Deloitte Australia in 1994. John has over 40 years’ financial advisory experience to boards, executive management and other stakeholders of listed and large privately owned organisations. His skills and expertise centres around leadership in special situations where restructuring, scenario planning and turnaround is required. John’s advice is sought by directors, shareholders, financiers, new equity investors and regulators.

John served as Managing Partner of Deloitte in Queensland for over 9 years and on the Deloitte Australia Board for 11 years including the audit, remuneration and partner admissions sub-committees, prior to his appointment as Chair.

John is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds qualifications as a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Governance Professional and Chartered Company Secretary.

In 2020, John was appointed as joint Voluntary Administrator to restructure the Virgin Australia Group.
