Ian is a Partner in Deloitte’s Engineering, AI & Data practice and a senior technology leader in Defence and national security.
He specialises in translating emerging technologies into operational capability, combining deep Defence domain experience with hands-on leadership of complex AI, data and engineering programs. His work spans artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, ISR, decision advantage and modern software and data architectures, from early experimentation through to deployment and sustainment.
Ian works on some of Australia’s most significant emerging Defence technology priorities, including but not limited to:
- AUKUS Pillar II
- AI-enabled decision support
- Sovereign AI
He engages with senior Defence and government leaders and works across Australian and international stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of technology into mission environments. His focus is on closing the gap between technology strategy and operational effect - helping Defence move promising technology from concept to fielded capability.
