100 minutes to innovate: let’s talk talent
GovLab Ireland hosted 100 minutes to innovate: let’s talk talent, a rapid-fire guided innovation journey on the area of public sector talent. GovLab public sector innovation experts facilitated an innovation-by-design process through a series of hands-on exercises to explore a key challenge: how can the public sector innovate to attract the talent it needs to transform?
Attendees from the public and private sectors came together to explore the challenge, “walk in the shoes” of the user, create ideas, develop a prototype and test their solution – all in the space of 100 minutes!

Connecting citizens and police to help combat crime
The Dutch National Police and Deloitte GovLab Netherlands worked on the challenge to connect citizens and the police 24/7 through social media to help combat crimes. Using a 1 week Design Sprint method, a prototype solution was created: a Virtual Agent chatbot named Wout for reporting / declaration combined with an online personal investigation file, which can be shared by the victim via social media.

Tackling online harassment with Zipit: our pioneering social media chatbot
Attendees at a Deloitte GovLab training course in Amsterdam were asked to solve a complex problem – helping people feel safe in the modern world. The team wanted to find out more about the safety issues impacting the community, and after speaking with people they knew and a sample of the Rotterdam community, they identified that online sexual harassment was a very real, widespread problem, with many young people feeling “safer outside than online”.
Through GovLab, attendees developed Zipit, a pioneering social media chatbot that offers support for victims of online sexual harassment, integrated through social media platforms. Zipit is an interactive add-on that allows social media providers, Deloitte and law enforcement to collaborate and tackle this problem together.

An innovative approach to poverty reduction for the Municipality of Amsterdam
Deloitte GovLab assisted the Municipality of Amsterdam in adopting an innovative approach to poverty reduction. After a phase of observing the customer, public and private stakeholders together came up with eight radical solutions. A jury selected three of the eight ideas which were then placed into an accelerator - an innovation organisation on the edge. The radical solutions are brought to life through the Deloitte GovLab Innovation by Design methodology. To date, all three experiments have been successful.
