Trust Banner Trust Banner

We support thousands of nonprofits in a myriad of ways to enact positive change and help contribute to solving some of society’s greatest challenges. Most commonly, our support includes pro bono services, donations, and volunteerism. Additionally, we provide support through leadership roles and board memberships, executive and aligned-action workshops, fellowship opportunities through Deloitte professional externships, and purpose-related thought leadership and eminence.

Impact Day

For more than 20 years, we have championed an organization-wide day of service—called “Impact Day”—for our professionals to volunteer in their local communities. Building on this long-standing tradition, we are excited to continue our momentum and further our engagement, working alongside clients and nonprofits. Deloitte leaders and professionals are encouraged to participate through in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities, and many cite it as one of their favorite, most memorable days of the year.

Impact Day is not just a day to us—it is a cornerstone of our purpose commitment and exemplifies the strength and value of coming together to build connections and deepen our impact.

Learn more about Impact Day

More than 88,500 Deloitte professionals invested over 636,000 hours to support more than 1,000 nonprofits through approximately 1,300 in-person and virtual volunteer projects for Impact Day.

Traditional and skills-based volunteering

In addition to our annual Impact Day, our people use their skills and experience to support our communities throughout the year by participating in virtual mentoring, in-person volunteerism, and skills-based volunteering engagements. During FY2023, more than 34,500 professionals engaged in in-person and virtual volunteer projects outside of Impact Day.

More than 95,000 hours were dedicated to helping local nonprofits tackle pressing challenges through skills-based volunteering that ranged from one-day workshops to six-month projects focused on challenges such as talent development, data analysis, and donor engagement.

Stepup and D2international are two examples of Deloitte’s skills-based volunteering programs:

  • Stepup, Deloitte’s largest professional skills-based volunteering program, provides experiences that allow our practitioners to apply and develop their professional and leadership skills while making a positive social impact. In FY2023, more than 1,200 Deloitte professionals volunteered their services to help empower more than 125 nonprofits to answer strategic questions and solve complex challenges.
  • Through our D2international (D2i) program, more than 300 Deloitte professionals collaborate with international nonprofits and social entrepreneurs each year to develop and deliver service-related consulting projects. To date, D2i has championed 31 initiatives with international nonprofits and social enterprises, involved more than 2,000 Deloitte professionals, tackled 16 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and served in 15 countries. In 2023, the D2i program supported more than 20 projects around the world. Notably, the D2i Fellowship worked with two organizations in Morocco: Dar Si Hmad and Zakoura Foundation.

Local community impact

Throughout the year, our people support our communities through leading local social impact and purpose councils, serving on nonprofit boards, and participating in externships directly with nonprofits. Our professionals hold more than 4,000 personal and professional leadership positions in nonprofit organizations nationwide.

Deloitte has social impact and purpose councils across our offices to connect professionals with local volunteer opportunities to support nonprofits. These councils are led by Deloitte professionals who contribute their time to manage and develop volunteer projects in their communities.

We offer programs and resources to support Deloitte leaders and professionals across all levels to navigate the various stages of board service. Our Nonprofit Board Training Program enables our professionals to find roles that align with their passions and skills as well as train them to become more effective leadership advisors and board members to national and local nonprofit organizations.
