Deloitte Advises on the Divestiture of Malaya Glass Products
Successful US/Asia Cross Border Packaging Transaction
Deloitte Corporate Advisory Services Sdn. Bhd (DCAS) served as the exclusive financial advisor to Fraser & Neave Holdings Berhad (F&N) in connection with its divestiture of Malaya Glass Products Sdn Bhd (MGP). MGP was sold to a joint venture formed by Berli Jucker Public Company Limited and Owens-Illinois, Inc. for total cash proceeds of $257.8 million.
MGP manufactures standard and bespoke glass bottles and jars for the beer, nonalcoholic beverage, and food markets. The Company employs approximately 1,900 people and operates four plants in China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. In fiscal 2009, MGP generated $126 million in sales.
Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC supported DCAS to provide deep packaging industry knowledge, direct access to U.S. strategic buyers, and extensive M&A experience.
F&N is a Malaysian company listed on Bursa Malaysia with F&B businesses in beverage and dairies. The Group employs over 3,000 employees in operations straddling Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
