Meet Kyle Tanger

Director, ClearCarbon Service, Deloitte Consulting LLP

Kyle Tanger is a director with Deloitte Consulting LLP and leads the US Consulting Sustainability offering. Prior to Deloitte, Mr. Tanger was the founder and CEO of ClearCarbon. He brings significant sustainability experience; having provided consulting services associated with the complex carbon management efforts of several Fortune 500 companies with combined Green House Gas (GHG) emissions totaling more than 200 million tons. Mr. Tanger served as an experienced peer reviewer for the World Resources Institute and World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s (WRI/WBCSD) GHG Protocol, considered the “gold standard” for corporate GHG accounting. Mr. Tanger also served as an advisory board member for the Pew Center for Global Climate Change’s report on corporate energy efficiency strategy. These roles provided Mr. Tanger with additional insights into the detailed mechanisms for effective sustainability management to complement his and ClearCarbon and Deloitte extensive direct experiences.

Mr. Tanger is a frequent presenter at Carbon and Energy Management conferences, presenting at dozens of events and was selected as a Table Facilitator for the 2008 Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting’s Energy and Climate Focus Area. Throughout his career, he has worked to create tools that measure financial performance of sustainability initiatives and plays central roles to some of the most impactful corporate sustainability initiatives today. He also has significant information and analytics experience integrating waste, water, emissions and energy data sources, and creating web-enabled management and analytical tools. Mr. Tanger led supply chain carbon footprint analyses for a big box retailer’s carbon scorecard efforts in conjunction with the Carbon Disclosure Project and has performed numerous carbon footprint analyses for individual consumer products, chemicals and industrial products.
