Ignite: Manufacturing Competitiveness

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) and The Council on Competitiveness are leading a U.S. Manufacturing Competitiveness Initiative, which includes the 2013 Global Manufacturing Competitiveness Index and the Ignite series, a three-part series of reports based on interviews with CEOs of American manufacturers,  presidents of American universities, directors of America’s national laboratories, and America’s labor leaders. 

Below are the three reports, Ignite 1.0: Voices of American CEOs on Manufacturing Competitiveness, Ignite 2.0: Voices of American University Presidents and National Lab Directors on Manufacturing Competitiveness, and Ignite 3.0: Voices of American Labor Leaders on Manufacturing Competitiveness. All of these are also available at www.compete.org/publications.

Ignite 1.0: Voices of American CEOs on Manufacturing Competitiveness
Based on interviews with more than 30 American manufacturing CEOs, this report captures a number of perspectives and recommendations executives believe are critical to improving U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.

Ignite 2.0: Voices of American University Presidents and National Lab Directors on Manufacturing Competitiveness
The second installment in the Ignite series, this report is based on interviews with university presidents and America’s national laboratory directors and builds on the perspectives and recommendations by the CEOs participating in Ignite 1.0.

Ignite 3.0: Voices of American Labor Leaders on Manufacturing Competitiveness
The third and final installment in the Ignite series, this report is based on interviews with a dozen leaders of America’s labor unions.
