Contract Drafting and Legal Writing

On 7 and 8 July 2012, the British Legal Centre held a two-day workshop on drafting contracts in partnership with the Deloitte Academy – the training arm of Deloitte LLP. The workshop was run for lawyers and other legal staff at Deloitte and its client companies.

Over 20 delegates attended from all parts of Kazakhstan, and Richard Brady, Head of the British Legal Centre, came to Kazakhstan to lead the training. The workshop was attended by lawyers from major banking, gold mining and oil companies. The training was considered a great success by everyone involved, and we are proud that the delegates awarded the training full marks both for its content and its facilitator in a private poll taken by the Deloitte Academy.

This was the first joint training event held by the British Legal Centre and the Deloitte Academy following the signing of a partnership agreement between the two organizations to run training sessions in the Caspian region. Thanks to its success, further events are currently being scheduled for late July, which are due to be held in Astana and Almaty. A number of topics have been requested for future sessions by lawyers in Kazakhstan, including a comparison between US and UK contract law and the principles of Sharia law, as well as general legal writing and contract law training events.

The British Legal Centre has also been invited to run this same workshop with Deloitte in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The next training session will be announced on our website.
