Mike Barrington, CEO of Deloitte Central Europe says:


“Our third survey shows an improvement in outlook in a number of areas covered by the report. The positive sentiments about the prospects for sales revenues and capital expenditure in 12 months’ time have both increased and respondents have also shown increased positive sentiments about the current availability of credit. However, the repercussions of the global crisis continue to be felt with a negative outlook for companies growing their workforces or growing their organisations through acquisition. Nevertheless, I am pleased to see an increase in positive opinions across a range of important issues for the senior business executives of Central Europe.”

The Deloitte Business Sentiment Index is a research-based analysis of the opinions of senior executives on a number of important business-related issues. The executives who participate in the Business Sentiment Index represent some of the largest companies within six countries of Central Europe: Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

The index aims to provide a regular barometer of business sentiment in the region and provide insightful forecasts from those who influence not only their company's performance but also that of their local economies.

Deloitte will be publishing the index regularly in order to provide up-to-date information on the latest views and sentiments across Central Europe.
