ABCs: The new landscape

Background

The use of asset backed funding contributions to address pension scheme deficits has increased in both popularity and application over recent years. Since 2010, around £3.4bn of asset backed funding structures have been implemented using a variety of asset classes, including property, brand and receivables.

New legislation set out in the Finance Act 2012 has changed the landscape of asset backed funding and our report considers:

  • What are the legislative changes?
  • How are the changes affecting the market?
  • What does the future hold for asset backed funding?

In the new landscape of asset backed funding, companies and trustees will need to consider their key objectives and priorities, in order to tailor the solutions to best meet their overall needs.
