EPRA Annual Report Survey 2009/10
8 companies win gold awards in EPRA annual report survey
In conjunction with European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA), Deloitte is delighted to present a report on the findings of our review of the annual reports of 80 listed real estate companies across Europe.
We have changed our approach to the survey this year, to provide better recognition for companies complying with the EPRA Best Practice Recommendations (BPR) alongside the many other challenges associated with the delivery of relevant and useful annual reports. Instead of an award for the best annual report, broader recognition is available via Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.
“It is clear from the performance identified in this year’s Annual Report Survey that EPRA’s Best Practices Recommendations are really developing momentum and having an impact on the ground, where it counts, with listed property companies. I strongly encourage EPRA members to now focus on those areas identified as needing more work, as this is the best way of attracting investment into the industry.”
Philip Charls, Chief Executive, European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA)
Over a third of companies representing 10 countries across Europe were accredited with Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. The results demonstrate the wide acceptance and penetration of the ERPA BPR for real estate reporting.
Gold awards were won by British property companies: The British Land Company PLC; Great Portland Estates plc; Hammerson PLC; Land Securities Group PLC; SEGRO plc; Finnish firm Citycon Limited; and Dutch property companies Vastned Office/Industrial NV and Vastned Retail NV. In addition, nine property companies were awarded silver and 12 bronze awards.
French real estate company Klépierre has been presented with the award for ‘Most Improved Annual Report’.
