We invite you to join the next workshop in the Deloitte INED Series which will be held on 12 March 2013. Our workshop will give insight into some established, but often under-utilized and sometimes mismanaged, aspects of risk and return that, as an INED, you should have on your radar and be ready to guide on. Questions that will be addressed include:
What impact will future developments in Hong Kong's asset management industry have for your company?
How can your company legitimately pay less tax?
How can you prevent a routine tax investigation escalating into a problem?
What are the questions you should be asking?
This workshop will be hosted by Yvonne Law, Tax Managing Partner – Eminence and Business Development, and will feature the following presenters.
Professor K.C. Chan, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury since 2007, is our special guest speaker and will provide insight into the Hong Kong Government's plans for the development of the asset management industry and the implications for companies listed in Hong Kong. Professor Chan's former public service positions include serving as director of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, the Hang Seng Index, and Chairman of the Consumer Council. Professor Chan has published numerous articles on assets pricing, evaluation of trading strategies and market efficiency.
Yvonne Law Deloitte Tax Managing Partner – Eminence and Business Development, and Patrick Cheung, Deloitte Partner and Financial Services Transfer Pricing Leader, will provide guidance in two areas of tax management that are less well understood and less well managed – transfer pricing and tax investigation.
Yvonne is also the Leader of Deloitte's Business Tax and Field Audit and Tax Investigation Group in Hong Kong, former Chairman of the HKICPA's Taxation Committee. In 2012, Yvonne was named by Legal Media Group as one of the World's Leading Women in Business Law, and she has consistently been named by the International Tax Review as one of the leading Tax Advisors in Hong Kong and Mainland China from 2001 to 2012.
Patrick is recognized by Legal Media Group as a Leading Transfer Pricing Advisor in Hong Kong, and a regular speaker for seminars organized by industry groups and regional tax authorities. He has both public and private sector experience of tax management and now advises many of the world's leading MNCs in retail, automotive, trading and logistics, pharmaceutical and financial services.
