Deloitte and Moore Stephens Sydney West to join forces in Western SydneyDOWNLOAD
11 February 2014: Professional services firm Deloitte announced today a major investment in Western Sydney with 10 partners and 54 staff from Moore Stephens Sydney West joining Deloitte’s Western Sydney office to service the rapidly growing Western Sydney region, Australia’s fifth largest economy and the engine room of New South Wales.
Commenting on the union of the two firms, Deloitte Office Managing Partner Western Sydney, Danny Rezek, highlighted the ongoing investment Deloitte has made in the Western Sydney region over the past 30 years and its future growth potential.
“With 28% revenue growth over the last seven months, our 286 person Western Sydney practice, with 23 partners across our Parramatta and Norwest offices, is currently the fastest growing of all our offices in Australia.
“We believe this growth will only continue as Sydney expands west driven by one of the fastest growing urban populations in Australia and an extremely competitive commercial property market.
“Improvements in infrastructure, such as the $11.5 billion West Connex project freeing up freight movements, as well as the increasing likelihood of a second airport at Badgerys Creek, will only serve as a catalyst for job creation, investment and further economic growth,” he added.
David Hill, Deloitte Private National Managing Partner commented: “Home to some 75,000 private businesses, Western Sydney is a vitally important and exciting market for Deloitte Private.
“We are delighted to be joining forces with the Moore Stephens Sydney West partners to deliver the highest value professional services to the growing number of private, family-owned businesses and not-for-profit (NFP) entities in this key region of the Australian economy.
“Increasingly this includes helping our clients leverage cloud technologies to manage their businesses more efficiently and cost effectively.
“We are looking forward to expanding our cloud accounting offering within Western Sydney together with our online portal and automated bookkeeping and benchmarking solutions.
“The investment Deloitte Private has made in these technologies has enabled us to enhance the value we provide to all of our clients at highly competitive market price points,” he continued.
Stewart Thompson, Moore Stephens Sydney West’s Managing Partner said: “Like Deloitte, Moore Stephens Sydney West has been in Western Sydney for over 30 years and our union will capitalise on a strong cultural fit, mutual networks and growth opportunities for both firms, for the benefit of our clients and employees.
“We are looking forward to leveraging Deloitte’s innovation including the cloud-based services developed by Deloitte Private as well as the breadth and depth of professional services that won Deloitte both the AFR/CFO Awards for Accounting and Audit Firm of the Year in 2013.
Deloitte’s Western Sydney practice will now increase from 286 to around 350 people.
