The Hon. Peter Hall, the Victorian Minister for Higher Education and Skills is supporting the National ICT Careers Week. Recently he advised, “The National ICT Careers Week provides young people with information on education and training options that will help them participate productively in technology-driven global economies.”

Ms Penny Coulter, Chair of the National ICT Career Week initiative said, “We are very pleased with the Victorian Government continuing its strong support for National ICT Careers Week. Victorian Governments have been engaged in the Careers Week from its inception and they have provided strong support for the many Victorian organisations that have participated, and are participating in the National ICT Careers Week.”

“The annual National ICT Careers Week is running from 23-29 July 2012,” advised Ms Coulter. “Organisations across Australia are seeking to introduce young people to the rewarding and engaging career opportunities available across Australia and in the world.” Ms Coulter said, “There are excellent events and activities being presented.”

The Deloitte Tech Challenge 2012 at the Careers Week has Deloitte’s Technology teams including Deloitte Analytics, Technology Consulting and Risk Services available to help ICT students learn more about Deloitte’s Technology service lines and the opportunities it has for summer vacation students and graduates.

Alan Patterson, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Computer Society welcomed the strong support by the Victorian Government and the many Victorian organisations that have participated in, and are participating in this year’s National ICT Careers Week. He said, “ICT opens a world of possibilities and offers work across a range of exciting industries. Current and future generations of Australian ICT professionals will be engaged in solving many of the most of the significant problems we face today.”

Ms Coulter emphasised, “Young people, their parents, their teachers and their careers advisors can find out about the Victorian National ICT events by going to the National ICT Careers Week website.
