  • Government’s position regarding announced but unlegislated measures:  The Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer have announced the Government’s position regarding a backlog of announced but unlegislated tax and superannuation measures. We provide comments on the Government’s position and the key considerations and actions for business

  • Government proceeding with restrictions on refunds of overpaid GST: The Government has confirmed that it will proceed to amend the GST law to restrict the circumstances in which taxpayers can obtain refunds of overpaid GST

  • Opening of Parliament this week: The 44th Parliament will commence on Tuesday 12 November 2013. Parliament will sit for the 2013 Spring sittings between 12 November and 12 December 2013.
