Krissy is a Deloitte vice chair and the leader of Deloitte’s US investment management industry practice. As the industry leader, Krissy is responsible for driving the integrated industry strategy across Deloitte’s businesses, Audit, Consulting, Risk & Financial Advisory, and Tax, and ensuring the strategy, solutions, and thought leadership meets the evolving market demands. Krissy also works with our client account teams to ensure we deliver the breadth and depth of the firm’s capabilities and talent to our clients. With over 550 partners, principals, and managing directors and more than 5,000 staff dedicated to the industry, her team has deep capabilities to assist clients as they grow and transform their business and meet regulatory and stakeholder expectations. In her 24 years with the firm, Krissy has had significant experience delivering complex and transformative projects to a variety of stakeholders. She has served a wide array of clients including mutual funds, private and public investment advisors, alternative asset managers, asset servicers, and broker/dealers. In addition to her passion for serving clients, Krissy has been a champion for many of the firm’s talent, diversity, and inclusion initiatives including serving as a leader of the firm’s Women’s Initiative and championing the development of many professionals as a coach, mentor and/or sponsor. Krissy is also a member of the firm’s Retirement Committee. She has a deep commitment to her community including a passion for the accessibility of high-quality, early childhood education. She currently serves as a Trustee for the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, and Summit Montessori School. Krissy earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Stonehill College. She lives outside Boston with her husband, Evan, and two daughters, Emma (13) and Hannah (10).

Maria Gattuso

Principal | Account Leadership | Deloitte & Touche LLP

Maria leads Deloitte’s Regulatory Remediation practice for financial services and has more than 25 years of experience in financial services. Maria focuses on regulatory and compliance matters for Deloitte’s investment management and wealth clients, including in connection with regulatory investigations on a multitude of issues such as sales practices, conflicts of interest, and fee billing practices. Representative engagements include large-scale remediation projects involving forensic and data analysis; calculating investor harm; rule implementation (including Reg BI, DOL, and the new rules applicable to mutual funds); risk assessments; and performing gap analyses against regulatory requirements and controls assessments, including in connection with SEC enforcement actions and deficiency letters and FINRA investigations. She also has assisted clients with assessing legal and compliance departments for efficiencies and modernization, impact analyses of structuring alternatives around different operating models, mock exams, and regulatory analytics. In her prior role as outside counsel, she has gained significant experience in federal securities laws, including advising on the creation and operation of open-end and closed-end funds, ETFs, business development companies, hedge funds, and managed account platforms as well as on transactional matters such as fund mergers, fund adoptions, and adviser acquisitions. She has advised clients on a broad range of topics, including with respect to regulatory, compliance, and fund governance matters. Additionally, Maria is a former M&A attorney. Prior to joining Deloitte, Ms. Gattuso was most recently a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Prior to that, she was a partner at Shearman & Sterling LLP.

Linda is a Managing Director in Deloitte’s Human Capital, Financial Services practice and serves as the Human Capital Sector Lead for Investment Management and Real Estate. She has over 30 years of experience in both industry and professional services. Linda has deep expertise in culture transformation, workforce transformation, and future of work initiatives. She is known for her ability to align leaders to adopt cultural changes needed to ensure successful transformation.

Jeffrey B. Stakel

Jeffrey B. Stakel

Principal

Jeff is a principal with the Casey Quirk practice of Deloitte Consulting LLP and has more than 15 years of experience in the asset management industry. Jeff’s subject matter expertise includes all stages of the merger and acquisition lifecycle from commercial due-diligence through post-merger integration. In addition, he has led significant engagements focused on global distribution prioritization and organizational design, investments outsourcing and outcome-oriented strategies, business strategy reviews and fixed income product development and positioning. In addition, he contributes to the firm’s thought leadership and leads Casey Quirk’s professional development and talent acquisition programs. Prior to joining Casey Quirk, Jeff was an assistant vice president at AB, formerly AllianceBernstein, where he worked in the blend strategies group, managing the US and global equity portfolios for institutional clients. He also worked for Sanford C. Bernstein’s private client wealth management team, focused on high-net-worth individuals. Jeff earned his master’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in decision sciences, from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and operations management from the University of Massachusetts.
