James Turgal

James is a managing director in the Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory Cyber Risk Services practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP. James advises senior executives on the crisis management challenges they face, in particular cyber risks. He helps clients develop and execute security programs to prevent and reduce the business impact of cyber threats. This includes board education, cyber wargaming , and other strategy efforts such as the public and private sector collaboration around cybersecurity. Due to his vast experience in cyber risk and crisis management, James frequently speaks publicly on developing cyber events. James joined Deloitte after retiring in 2017 from a distinguished 22-year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In his last FBI position, James served as the C-suite level FBI executive responsible for the enterprise’s worldwide information and technology needs. During his tenure, James was the FBI’s Chief Human Capital Officer and the only Federal law enforcement member of the Gartner Global CIO Research Board.
